August workshop projects

I had a great time doing my August workshops. If you held a workshop in August, you received this cute little picture frame.

I demonstrated how easy it was to put together. It is a 3.5x5 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped using the Just Believe stamp set and the Peach Parfait and Pear Pizazz markers to color in the stamp. Give it a good warm breath to moisten the ink back up and stamp the image, then turn slightly and stamp again using the stamp off technique. Then the fun begins. Run this piece of cardstock through the Big Shot (absolutely LOVE this thing) using the square lattice embossing folder. If it doesn’t give you the pattern on top that you wanted, turn it over and run it through again (super cool!). Put a little bit if Snail adhesive on the front (behind where the verse will be placed) Then wrap it with some linen thread criss-crossing them and having the ends in front (stick to the Snail), then place a Dimensional on top (helps hold it all together). Ink up you verse (I used the markers to get the two colors), breathe on it and stamp on the Very Vanilla piece. Layer on the Certainly Celery then on the Pumpkin Pie pieces (these two colors go really well with the new In Color colors). Adhere to the background with Dimensionals and place in the frame. Tie a bow with the Linen thread on a coordinating button from the Brights collection and adhere to the front of the glass with a glue dot.
Now for the card. It is a very simple card that anyone would love to get.

Fold a half sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock in half to make the background. Run a piece of Certainly Celery cut to layer (4x5.25) through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing folder. Run a piece of Very Vanilla (4x5) through the Big Shot with the Top Note die. Stamp the grassy flower image from the Just Believe set using the technique above, just about where the point is on the die cut piece, then stamp a greeting if desired.  Place on Certainly Celery piece (but don’t adhere yet) for placement and trim off the edge (or fold under). Punch a hole using the small hole on the Crop-a-dile and thread a piece of Victoria Crochet trim through and adhere to the back of the Vanilla piece. Now adhere the Vanilla piece to the Celery textured piece (glue dots work really well for this). Wrap the piece of trim around the back of the Celery piece and adhere. Tie a small knot (cheater knot) on the front with the trim ribbon. Adhere this piece to the Pumpkin Pie background and ta-da, you have a great card and gift for a good friend.
